Get into the party spirit and take a trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Spring is a wonderful time to go because you can take part in this year’s new attraction — the Mardi Gras Festival. Dive into the Mardi Gras experience at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and create some treasured memories of Mardi Gras, the most celebrated Big Easy tradition.
Details about the Mardi Gras Festival
Beginning on March 24 and lasting through April 30, this fantastic Six Flags Fiesta Texas festival celebrates spring in Texas. Watch the park transform into a Texas rendition of the New Orleans Mardi Gras and enjoy the parade that happens twice a day for every day that the park is open during this time period.
You’ll see elaborate handcrafted floats of the Mardi Gras King and Queen, a float commemorating Dia de los Muertos, and even a float that depicts Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival. What with the parade and live music, it doesn’t get more festive. A brass band, stilt walkers and street performers bring the park into a state of celebration. Plus, you can catch colorful beads that float riders throw to spectators, another tradition that captures the spirit of New Orleans Mardi Gras.
No culinary arts are lost on the Mardi Gras either, with plenty of King Cake, Cajun style popcorn crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya and adult beverages such as New Orleans hurricane and Southern Comfort Sweet Tea.

Looking for a Dramatic Adventure? Try the Six Flag Thrill Rides
A visit to Six Flags isn’t complete without going on some thrilling rides. Here are a few:
Boomerang. Get into warrior mode for this ride that lives up to its name, Boomerang. Aboriginal tribes in Australia used the boomerang as an ultimate weapon. When they threw it, it circled around and came back to them. This ride take you flying at nearly 60 miles per hour and blasting through two hand-gripping inverted loops and a corkscrew, which is enough to wake up your inner warrior. Imagine being yanked backwards up to a 125-foot spike in the sky and momentarily hanging there before you hurtle down the track and experience the weightless sensation of 5.2 Gs.
Hurricane Force 5. The first of its kind in Texas, Hurricane Force 5 rotates clockwise and counterclockwise and arcs from side to side. The half pipe track is nearly five stories high and rotates at 14 revolutions per minute.
Power Surge. This is a river ride you’ll never forget as you plunge down a drop at 36 miles per hour into a massive splash, which is like falling from the sky. A tower of spray will drench you and bystanders as it creates a 20-foot-tall water wave.
